There is nothing like hard work to enliven me. I had one of the best days in a long time, just working hard with friends. All day I built shelves with Keith, he says I can take Mike Craig’s template and make money installing shelves for Napervillians. I mowed my lawn, worked in the yard, met with a new high school student at Oswego East, and rebuilt my CV boots over at Peder and Amy’s.
We worked on my Accord about 4 hours today. Me, Peder and Ed replaced the CV boots on the Accord this evening. It took about 4 hours, takes the Honda guys about 3… We saved a ton of money and I was able to spend some really quality time with good friends. I learned a lot about cars and realized that if ministry doesn’t pan out, working as a mechanic might bring me some real joy! ;)
It was so much fun to pull stuff off the car, see how it works, play in a bunch of grease, bushings, boots and clamps… you should have seen how dirty we were [Pics]! It took a long time to shower off and get clean from the sawdust, dirt, grass clippings, grease and grime. And PS, don’t dry off with a yellow towel (sorry Kara, I think it will come clean).
I was kind of giddy about how much fun it was to pull apart axles and drive shafts, repacking bushings and differentials!
Keith, Patric, and Caleb all showed up to "help" as well. They were the encouragement section. We had some good "man time". Pics.
