MSN and Dating

Msnmain6935People continue to surprise me with how dumb they are… look at these "new" ways to ask people out: MSN Dating

Now is not only okay to live into adolescence until you are 28, you can also ask people out on a date (when you’re 30) using a napkin and the famous check boxes "yes" and "no".  You can also ask your friend to ask her out for you, because most women want a spineless, timid man to ask them out for a date, and perhaps be the man who will try to care for her by having a job, paying bills, doing laundry, feeding the children.  hmmm.

Great family day!

Img_9628 We had a wonderful day together as a family! After a relaxing morning, we packed up our lunch and drove to Brookfield Zoo. What a gorgeous spring day…it was in the upper 70s!

We spent a few hours just the four of us and then our friend Ed met us there with his 2 daughters (His wife needed to rest today as she is pregnant with high blood pressure). We saw every animal possible and the girls enjoyed every minute! Natalie was so curious about everything. Amy was too, but she was usually more interested in eating chips in the wagon.

On the ride home we stopped at a PlayLand McDonald’s. The girls ate well and really enjoyed some more playtime! Tomorrow we are going to head to downtown Naperville for some more family time.

Thank you, Lord for the great weather and the much needed time together.

It’s Been a Zoo

We have been too busy lately, ask anyone close to us that usually sees us and spends time with us, we have not been around and available… sorry growth group, we do want to be with you.

We had two cancellations this weekend for the leader dinners we have been having regularly, at least two a week in addition to the other nightly commitments.  With the cancellations, Kara and I decided to spend some dedicated time as a family, just the four of us.  We are supposed to see 75 degree weather here Saturday and Sunday so we will be outside a lot!  The zoo, the park, the backyard, etc.

And two evenings back to back free.

This is a welcome reprieve.  I hope that it is encouraging for us as a couple too, talking, praying, looking at the future and how we can balance our lives a bit better. -Nate

Taxes Done

IL taxes are finally done.  Woo hoo.

In other matters, the war against bunnies has begun.  I destroyed two nests and have chased them around the yard, thrown rocks at them, shooed them, and sprayed.  There are still fences around the expensive plants… these things are rats.  And for some reason they are protected, so I can’t get an air rifle and take care of business.

Paperwork

Just thought I’d post a helpful file, I always wonder how long to keep these things.  I just shredded three reams of bills, payments and other papers that I don’t need or can get directly from businesses/banks via email.  It feels good to purge.  Spring cleaning has begun!

Blog Admin

Sorry for the inconvenience, for privacy, we changed the link to our home page, the old address will point to the more "public" blog which is Nate’s.  This change will mess up your links, shortcuts, etc.  Navigating back to the homepage when you view pictures will take you to my page now, you’ll have to hit the actual address (below). -Nate

The new address: http://conrad98.typepad.com/files

[Update] I should preface, the reason that I moved the site a little is that my other site is getting more traffic from non-family, non-church people, I was linked by a friend on his site, so I moved the "home" page in order to avoid having these people navigate there by accident.  They are Christians likely, it is a loop of people that have been reading my worship director’s blog and will inevitably link back here, so I am not "worried" about crazy people finding our site.
