Happy Halloween!

Img_5587 Happy Halloween! I had a great day today with my little bugs! Natalie wore her costume to school and Mommy got to come for the day to help out and see the Halloween Party. It was really neat to see Natalie in her school environment. I can see why she loves going and why she loves her teacher, Mrs. Lewis. After school we went home to get Amy and then we went trick-or-treating! We have a tradition of going to a nursing home in Oswego called The Tillers. The residents sit outside their rooms and pass out candy. I feel it is a neat way to spend time with the residents…and we get to trick-or-treat for awhile without our coats on! After going to The Tillers, we head over to my parents house and Papa takes the girls trick-or-treating at some houses. It was REALLY cold this year (30 degrees!) so we only went to a few. The girls got plenty of candy!

Baby Young is here!

Img_5252 Img_5247 Congratulations to Matt and Erin on the birth of Abigail Elizabeth Young at 8:45 this morning. Abby was 7 pounds 12 ounces and 21 inches long. Erin and Abby are well!

I visited her in the hospital and she is precious. It was so cute to see Erin with her little baby girl.

Day in the Life of a Substitute Teacher

So…I had my first substituting job today. It was for 6th grade English at Scullen Middle School. I was not looking forward to it because I really don’t want to be away from the girls…but we could really use the $90 a day! I am only planning on subbing 2 days a week, so I won’t be gone too much.

Substituting will be a piece of cake. With my knowledge of the school district and curriculum, the teaching should come easy…if I ever have to teach. From personal experience, it is much easier to tell a sub to "let the kids read all period" when you wake up with a 103 degree fever. So…today I finished 10 crossword puzzles and read 100 pages in my book (and finished it). I missed the girls…but I can’t say it was that bad of a day.

The Engagement Party

Img_4822 Img_4926 This weekend was Dana and Walter’s engagement party. Mutual friends of ours hosted the party and it was a really nice time. It is so neat to see Dana entering this phase in her life. She was so beautiful all night because she was glowing. You could just see how happy her and Walter are together. I am so thankful that God has provided her with a (future) husband. Pictures posted.

They’re registered!

Img_0001 For anyone who cares…Dana and Walter are registered! They have signed up for all the goods at Pottery Barn, Target, and Macy’s. Of course, you can view all of these at their online sites. The wedding plans are moving along! It has been a lot of fun to see all of this come together for Dana. I am so happy and excited for her. This weekend a mutual friend of ours is throwing them an engagement party. It should be a lot of fun!

Copying Amanda, Again

So, I have no creativity of my own… I just copy other people’s sites.  I am a member of "Executioners at the Disco" (nice, huh?) according to Amanda’s (who also copies others) recent random generator… Band Name Generator.
